We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Part-Time Science Instructor – Anatomy & Physiology to join our team and contribute to the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Anatomy & Physiology and a strong commitment to student success. They should be able to engage students through lectures and active learning techniques while fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.

Position Details:

  • Status: Part-Time
  • Location: In-Person, On-Campus at our Bend, OR location.
    • Class will begin on February 24th, 2024

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in biology or related field.
  • 3-6 years as an instructor preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Experience using multi-media equipment for instruction.
  • Experience teaching online classes as well as in person classes.
  • Ability to engage students in active learning and critical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to enhance student learning, including the appropriate use of traditional, technology-assisted, hands-on, and other forms of instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and delivery of the curriculum to all assigned classes
  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures on Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology as assigned.
  • Timely grading of assignments and ensuring all grades are entered into the course management system (Canvas).
  • Remaining current in knowledge being taught to students.
  • Making recommendations to improve syllabi and update textbooks for the program.
  • Ensuring that the material is delivered within the boundaries of the course syllabus and delivered in a comprehensive and professional manner to students.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for diverse students body.
  • Evaluating and developing multi-style teaching strategies
  • Attending and participate in assigned instructional development, faculty meetings and other events as required.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff to ensure a positive learning environment.
