Veterans Benefits

Thank you for your service to our country. We are honored to help you continue your education and provide you with the resources necessary to succeed.

As one of Oregon’s military-friendly nursing schools, Sumner College is approved by the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs State Approving Agency. Our Bachelor of Science Nursing, Practical Nursing and RN-BSN programs lead to a college degree or career-specific educational program.  For complete program and application information please visit: The United States Department of Veteran Affairs.

We encourage you to explore the educational benefits available to you through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans benefits may include payment for courses, books, tutoring and housing allowance. In some circumstances, benefits may be transferred to a dependent. Sumner College Military & Veteran Support Programs

  • Sumner College has GI-Bill®-approved programs
  • Sumner College is not approved for Tuition Assistance
  • Sumner College is not a Yellow Ribbon school
  • Sumner College does not offer credit for military
  • Sumner College does not award credit for the CLEP exam
  • Sumner College does not award credit for the DSST exam

To begin processing your benefits, we require the following information:

  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  • All post-secondary transcripts

If you are an Oregon resident, you may be eligible to receive veterans benefits in Oregon through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. For eligibility and application information please visit the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs Educational Aid Program.
